DEEN HALAL FAQ

What is Halal?

Halal is an Arabic term meaning “lawful or permitted,” referring to life practices and, in our case, foods allowed for Muslims. Halal meats come from animals raised and slaughtered following Islamic principles for humane treatment. Halal slaughter is considered more ethical by some people.

Why is halal a better option?

For Muslims, it is a religious requirement to consume only permissible, halal meat. Non-Muslim people may also choose to eat halal meat for various reasons. Some believe that halal is better for animals due to humane treatment and for people consuming it, as meat is required to have blood drained immediately and thoroughly from the animal, yielding a product of a higher standard of purity and quality for the consumer.
